Terms of Use

Last updated: 2026-10-08

These terms cover use of the AetherAssembly website, including aetherassembly.org and its subdomains (such as wiki.aetherassembly.org and legal.aetherassembly.org) — the wiki, about page, legal pages, and related pages. By using this site, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

Who we are

AetherAssembly is a small, independent, currently-unregistered team based in Pennsylvania, USA. "We," "us," and "AetherAssembly" refer to the individuals who build and maintain this site and the projects documented on it. We're not (yet) a formally registered business entity, so please treat these terms accordingly — this is a project run by people, not a corporation.

The website vs. the apps

This site hosts documentation and information about our open source projects — MindTab, Before It's Gone, aether-packages, and Driftleaf. Each of those projects is a separately licensed piece of software (MIT or AGPL-3.0, as noted per project) with its own repository, release process, and, where applicable, its own terms or usage notes. These Terms of Use govern your use of this website, not the apps themselves. Using an app is governed by its own license and any docs specific to it.

Using the site

You're welcome to browse, read, and link to this site. A few basic rules:

  • Don't attempt to disrupt, overload, or interfere with the site or the third-party services it relies on (including automated scraping beyond normal, reasonable use)
  • Don't use the site for anything unlawful
  • Don't attempt to impersonate AetherAssembly or its members
  • Vulnerability research is welcome, but please follow our Security Policy for responsible disclosure rather than public exploitation

Intellectual property

Site content — text, layout, and design on aetherassembly.org — belongs to AetherAssembly unless otherwise noted. This is separate from the source code of our apps, which is licensed under open source licenses (MIT or AGPL-3.0, depending on the project) — see each project's repository for its specific license terms. Documentation on the wiki is provided to help you use our software; we try to keep it accurate but don't guarantee it's error-free or fully up to date at all times.

Third-party links and embeds

This site links to and embeds services we don't control, including GitHub, GitLab, Mozilla Add-ons, Chrome Web Store, npm, and Google Forms. We're not responsible for the content, availability, or practices of those third-party services. Use of any linked service is subject to that service's own terms.

No warranty

This site and its content are provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee the site will be available, error-free, or uninterrupted, or that any documentation is fully accurate or current.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, AetherAssembly and its members aren't liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, this website. Because we're an informal, currently-unregistered team rather than a registered business, this limitation applies to the individuals operating the site personally.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we do, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
