This policy covers the AetherAssembly website (aetherassembly.org) only — the wiki, about page, and this page itself. It does not cover the individual apps we build (MindTab, Before It's Gone, aether-packages, Driftleaf), which have their own documentation and, where relevant, their own privacy notes. Check each project's own docs for how that specific app handles data.
We don't have accounts, we don't run analytics or advertising trackers, and we don't sell or share data with anyone for marketing purposes. The site is mostly static pages. The sections below cover the few places where data does pass through third-party services, because we'd rather over-disclose than under-disclose.
AetherAssembly does not set any cookies on this site, and we don't run any analytics, telemetry, or tracking scripts of our own — not on this site, and not in any of our apps. The only tracking that happens here comes from third-party services embedded on specific pages (the Google Form contact form, and Google Fonts), described below — not from us. If you avoid the contact form and block requests to Google's font servers, nothing on this site sets a cookie or tracks you.
This site loads web fonts (Syne, DM Sans) directly from Google's servers (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). When your browser requests these fonts, your IP address and browser information are sent to Google as part of that request. This is standard for how web fonts are served and is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. We don't control what Google does with that request beyond serving the font file.
The contact form embedded on the About page is a Google Form. If you submit it, your responses go directly to Google and are visible to us as the form owner, subject to Google's Privacy Policy. If you'd rather not use it, you're welcome to email us instead at support@aetherassembly.org.
Pages on the wiki make a request, directly from your browser, to the public GitHub API to display the latest release version for each project. We don't see or store this request — it goes straight from your browser to GitHub — but GitHub will see the request as it would any other, per GitHub's Privacy Statement.
To avoid hitting the GitHub API on every page load, the wiki caches the release version numbers it fetches in your browser's localStorage for about an hour. This is not a cookie, isn't sent to any server, contains no personal information, and stays on your device. You can clear it anytime through your browser's site data settings.
Like most websites, our hosting/CDN provider may automatically log standard technical information for security and operational purposes — things like IP address, browser/user-agent string, requested page, and timestamp. We use this only to keep the site running and secure, not to build any kind of user profile.
If you email us, message us through GitHub, or reach out about a security issue, we'll keep that correspondence to respond to you and to keep a record of the report, per our Security Policy. We won't use it for anything else.
This site isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children.
You can use most of this site without triggering any of the above: skip the contact form and email us instead, and use a browser extension or content blocker if you'd rather not load fonts from Google. None of it is required to read the wiki or documentation.
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Since we don't collect contact information from most visitors, we generally won't be able to notify you directly — check back if you're curious.
